Laborer CV Template With UK Sample Information + Example Content
A two-page CV suitable for a range of different roles. Sample details include Construction Laborer or General Laborer, or Apprentice - but this type of structure works well for almost every job. The layout does not contain drawings, tables or other objects that may cause a problem for Application Tracking Systems (ATS).
How to write a Laborer
CV:
You will see in the sample content of the CV that the
CV of the employee must contain the following categories:
Personal Details
Professional profile
Job Summary
Qualifications and Training
Hobbies and Interests
Personal details
Enter your name, address, phone number and email
address.
If the job advertisement refers to any specific
requirements such as a full driver's license or operating license, enter the
above information just above your personal details.
Professional
profile
Sometimes called a Personal Statement, this is a
summary of 3 - 4 sentences that explain why you are well suited to the role,
with reference to the job advertisement. You may also wish to submit a
statement of what you want.

Summary of work
This is your work history, in sequential order (e.g.
the latest one).
Focus on the job / construction information you have
that is relevant to the job application you are applying for.
Write down any important skills mentioned in the job
advertisement and try to include examples of this in the job history.
Review the job profile for your intended role to get
ideas on the types of skills employers want to see in the construction industry.
Try to give one or two successes for each role. This
is much more powerful than a list of responsibilities, as it provides proof
that you have the required skills, and that you can do your job well. Use
action verbs such as 'Combined', 'Taught' or 'Scheduled' to help you see which
parts of your work can be used as achievements. See this great list of actions
from MIT for inspiration.
If you have experience in this field, you can
volunteer.
Qualifications
and training
Highlight any qualifications and training appropriate
for the job / construction role. Provide details of non-essential training
where no skills are being transferred - or quit altogether.
Employers often want to see if you have a CSCS card -
be it an employee, apprentice or manager. Although you think this means
nothing, most employers use the default software and will be scanning this
keyword, so do not leave your CV.
Hobbies and
Interests
Although this section of the CV is not mandatory, it
can be helpful if:
You have interests that support your directed
construction role.
You have interests that reflect soft skills that are
passed on to the role you are targeting (such as collaboration).
You have interests that keep you fit and healthy -
the most important requirement for any construction project!

We did not include a reference section dedicated to
this CV template. Instead, there is a measurement section from the referee. It
is always an option to submit references, because your potential employer will
ask them if they want to hire you.
